Certified Nurse Assistants

Med Tech

Shifts available:

  • FT 3p-11p
  • FT 11p-7a

Assistance with self-administration of oral and external medications to residents under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse or a licensed practical/vocational nurse.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Freedom from illegal use of drugs.
  • Freedom from use of and effects of use of drugs and alcohol in the workplace.
  • Persons who have been found guilty by a court of law of abusing, neglecting, or mistreating individuals in a health care related setting are ineligible for employment in the position.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months’ related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. Computer use may be required.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Successful completion of a State Approved Medication Aid course and is approved to Administer oral and external medications. Must demonstrate competency to perform medication administration in accordance with state regulations.
  • Must complete 3-hour ADL training program, if not a state certified nursing assistant (CNA) program.

Caregiver MC

ALL Shifts available:

  • 7a-3p: 1 FT, 1PT
  • 3p-11p: 1 FT

We are seeking attentive and trustworthy Caregiver to join our staff in providing excellent care to our residents at the Gables on Pelham.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide assistance to residents with activities of daily living as needed according to the care plan. (Toileting, Ambulation, Eating, Transferring, Bathing, Dressing, Personal Hygiene, etc.)
  • Assure that residents are dressed appropriately when in living areas of the home or outside the building.
  • Assist and teach the residents skills in self-help in activities and daily living to maximize their independence and freedom of movement.
  • Based on training criteria, perform all personal care tasks. With the completion of the personal care aide course, perform basic personal care tasks. If additional courses are completed, perform special health-related tasks, as approved by doctors’ orders, approved, and signed off by a registered nurse.
  • Provide personal assistance as needed, requested, or required.
  • Respond to handbell or other signaling calls.
  • Assist the residents with transportation when so indicated by the Administrator.
  • Assist the Activities Coordinator in carrying out planned activities.
  • Provide assistance to residents to keep clothes in proper order.
  • Assist residents with making beds as needed. Made beds when residents were not able to do so.

Reports to: Administrator, Administrator-In-Charge, Supervisor-In-Charge and/or Personal Care Aide Supervisor

Dietary Cook

Shift available:

  • 10:30am – 7pm: PT, every other weekend

We are looking for a skilled Dietary Cook to prepare delicious meals for our assisted living and memory care residents. Prepares and serves attractive, nutritious meals in accordance with state regulations, policies, and procedures to ensure that quality food service is provided at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Freedom from illegal use of drugs.
  • Freedom from use and effects of the use of drugs and alcohol in the workplace.
  • Persons who have been convicted by a court of law or regulatory body of abusing, neglecting, or mistreating individuals in a healthcare-related setting are ineligible for employment in this position.
  • Must pass state and company criminal background checks.
  • Demonstrates effective time management skills.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Experience and/or knowledge of special diets, meal preparation for large groups, and safe food handling techniques are required. Ability to read and understand recipes, work in a team environment, work flexible shifts, handle multiple tasks at one time and communicate effectively verbally and/or in writing.
  • Ability to perform detailed work involving math calculations, problem-solving, handling emergency situations, and reading and understanding menus.
  • Must enjoy working with the elderly and be able to accept constructive criticism. Ability to interact with residents who are highly susceptible to common illnesses without posing additional health risks. Must maintain good personal hygiene, wear a uniform and comply with safety standards.

Licensed Practical Nurse

Shifts available:

  • 7p-7a: PRN, possibly FT

Passion for Seniors and a minimum of 3 years experience in a clinical long-term care environment completing the assessment.

The Licensed Practical Nurse practices according to the philosophy and policies/procedures of the community and state standards of practice. The LPN performs under the direction of the Wellness/Assisted Living Director. The LPN assumes the responsibility of “charge nurse” as assigned. The LPN assigns and provides direct supervision of personal care staff in accordance with the scope of their job description.

  • Persons who have been found guilty by a court of law of abusing, neglecting, or mistreating individuals in a healthcare-related setting are ineligible for employment in the position.
  • Demonstrates effective time management skills.

Education and/or Experience: High school graduate or equivalent. Must have a valid, unrestricted nursing license in the state. Must demonstrate competency in the following areas:

  • Staff supervision;
  • Assessment and resident care skills;
  • Medication management principles and practice; and
  • Written and verbal communication skills.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Current CPR certification. Maintain CEU requirements.
